From Inspiration to Implementation: My Experience at WeIGNITE 2025

This August, I had the privilege of kicking off my month at the WeIGNITE Program hosted by WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council). For three full days in Charlotte, NC, I joined 79 other incredible women business owners in an immersive workshop centered on professional development and the Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS®).

The session was led by Shea Peffly, a dynamic facilitator, entrepreneur, and powerhouse leader. Beyond her knowledge, her presence as a Black woman business owner who has successfully built multiple businesses made the learning experience deeply personal and affirming for me. Representation matters — and Shea embodied what’s possible when women support women in business.

A Room Full of Power

What struck me most was the diversity in the room. We had founders of businesses less than a year old and leaders of enterprises that have thrived for over 30 years. Some were sole founders, while others had business partners. Despite our different stages, industries, and organizational structures, one thing remained consistent: we were all women committed to building sustainable, profitable organizations.

Hearing so many perspectives through the lens of women in leadership was refreshing. It reminded me that while our entrepreneurial paths are unique, our challenges and dreams often overlap.

Lessons from EOS®

As an HR professional, concepts like “right people, right seats” are familiar to me. But experiencing EOS® in this new context brought a fresh perspective. The framework challenged me to think about scaling operations with accountability, visibility, and transparency at the center.

One key takeaway still resonates: accountability is a choice. As I continue implementing EOS® at AllProfit HR, I am making a conscious decision to hold myself, and my team, accountable to the structures that allow us to thrive.

The Value of WBENC Certification

This program was my first in-person WBENC experience, though I’ve engaged in their virtual offerings since January. Each one has been invaluable. The WeIGNITE Program, however, felt like more than just a workshop. It was affirmation. It was community. It was inspiration.

Becoming WBENC certified has been one of the best decisions I’ve made as an entrepreneur. The return on investment has been undeniable  not only in access to learning opportunities, but also in the strength of the community.

A Personal Note of Gratitude

More than business frameworks and networking, WeIGNITE was also a spiritual confirmation. As I step fully into entrepreneurship, I feel God’s presence guiding me. This experience reminded me that I am exactly where I’m meant to be. What once felt like imposter syndrome now feels like fuel — an empowering force to propel me forward.

To Shae, WBENC, and my fellow women business owners: thank you. This journey is richer, stronger, and more meaningful because of you.

Let's Connect

Are you a WBENC-certified business too? Let’s connect. I’d love to hear how you’re using these resources to grow and sustain your company.
