Last month, our team attended Career Fairs in Montgomery County and Prince George's County, connecting with displaced federal workers. The experience was genuinely eye-opening—we met incredibly dynamic individuals with diverse career backgrounds willing to pivot to entirely new opportunities out of necessity.

While we understand the urgency of securing new employment, we want to encourage thoughtful reflection on transferable skills. A hasty career change can lead to a poor fit, not because of talent deficiencies, but because of misalignment with organizational structures and work styles.

Transitioning from federal employment, especially after decades with the same employer, represents a significant change, which can be traumatic. Many are navigating unfamiliar systems, schedules, and workplace cultures for the first time in years.
