Graduation Reflections: Dartmouth's Tuck Executive Accelerator Experience

When AllProfit HR was selected from 125 applicants for MassMutual's prestigious business accelerator program, I'll admit my biggest concern wasn't the curriculum or the competition—it was time. As a CEO juggling client needs and business operations, committing to 48 contact hours over nine weeks felt daunting. But sometimes the experiences we're most hesitant about become the ones that transform us most profoundly.

The Journey: More Than Just Business Education
The program delivered far beyond traditional business education. Working alongside Dartmouth's Tuck Executive Program and receiving personalized mentorship from MassMutual-affiliated financial professionals created an environment that was both challenging and supportive. Each Monday's three-hour virtual sessions covered everything from competitive strategy and financial accounting to marketing, operations, and change management.
Yet, the real growth occurred in the spaces between reflection hours, homework assignments, and when theoretical concepts transitioned through practical application. My cohort counterparts became more than classmates; they became accountability partners who challenged my thinking and supported my evolution as a leader.

How AllProfit HR Has Grown
The metamorphosis has been both subtle and significant. Our business processes have fundamentally shifted. We've instituted regular assessment points to gauge client satisfaction, moving from reactive to proactive relationship management. Financially, while I brought business experience to the program, it provided the perfect segue into reacclimating myself to scaling strategies that serve not just AllProfit HR's growth, but amplify the success of our clients.
Perhaps most importantly, I can see how I show up differently as a leader, manager, and business partner. The program's emphasis on clarity in connection with others has strengthened my engagement with my team and clients. My capstone project, an HR Strategy Audit, which involved reviewing gaps, goals, strategy, and outcomes, exemplified this growth. While I regularly conduct this work for clients, examining my business with the same rigor revealed insights that I found were beneficial to external accountability.
What's Next: Embracing Inevitable Change
Like a butterfly, change is both inevitable and welcomed at AllProfit HR. Last year, I completed my coaching certification with Co-Active, and now I'm graduating from this business accelerator program. With my team, we explore how to resource each learning opportunity to reaffirm our core mission: ensuring our clients are People-Powered, Purpose-Driven, and Profit for All.

You'll notice these evolutions in how we work with you—we are more strategic, intentional, and equipped to help your business not just survive but thrive. The accountability partner approach, which proved valuable in my accelerator experience, has been further enhanced through its integration into our support for clients' growth journeys.
